Siesta's Hope
Lately, I've wondered what I want.
Sure, I recall desires, from what seems a past life.
But, death's faded memories make it hard to reconnect.
Once, I wanted peace.
I thought I could climb some height,
peer over the edge of the horizon
and see it lying there.
Spring is still green.
Winter white.
Blue and gold up above.
Brown muddies the earth with blood's tears.
I slip into a leaf. And fly.
To be free.
Now, I remember.
To want what I have.
You.
